Warning signs of a fake job
- They ask for a registration fee, uniform deposit, training charge or “security money”.
- They promise a salary far above other jobs for the same work.
- They want you to pay before you get the job or before joining.
- They ask for your OTP, bank PIN, or original documents to keep.
- They avoid giving a site address or ask you to meet somewhere unusual.
Before you join
- Prefer agencies with the “Verified agency” and “PSARA licensed” badges.
- Ask for an appointment letter with the salary, duty hours and PF/ESI details.
- Meet employers in daylight and tell a family member where you are going.
If someone asks you for money
- Do not pay.
- Open the job on Duty24 and tap Report this job.
- Choose “Asked me for money”.
Our team reviews these reports first, and a job reported by several people is taken down automatically until it is checked.
Already paid someone? Call the cyber crime helpline 1930 or report it at cybercrime.gov.in. Report the job on Duty24 too.
